KINGSPORT, Tenn. — Funeral services for Gary Glenn Flowers, 46 of Kingsport, Tenn, who died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, will be 7 p.m. Monday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel in Johnson City, Tenn., with the Rev. Greg Lovelace officiating.
Burial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Mountain Home National Cemetery. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home and leave in procession for the cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Flowers was a native of Natchez, and the son of the late G.T. and Pearl C. Hardin Flowers. He was a field engineer for GE Healthcare before becoming disabled. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he was a nuclear electrician/submariner. He received special recognition by earning the Navy Achievement Medal.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah and Amiee Flowers, both of Gray; one sister, Charlotte Smith and husband, Eddie, of Decatur; two brothers, Elwin Flowers of Natchez, and, Larry Flowers and wife, Daisy, of Port St. Lucie, Fla; ex-wife, Becky Flowers of Gray; special friend, Wendi Shipley of Gray; three nieces and one nephew.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
