GLOSTER — Services for Jessie James Knox Jr., 58, of Liberty, who died Monday, March 15, 2010, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Star Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church in Gloster.
Burial will follow at Mount Salem African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Knox was born Feb. 26, 1952, in Liberty, the son of Jessie James Knox Sr. and Willie Mae Horton Knox.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Don Cornelius Knox.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Sandra Knox; his mother; four daughters, Jessie Nicole Parrilla and husband, Alejandro, of Hammond, La., Shantell McDowell of Liberty, Tameka Wilson and husband, Robert, of Gloster and Jennifer McGehee of McComb; one stepdaughter, Tracy Moore of Smithdale; four sons, Jessie James Knox III and wife, Jerkindra, of Davenport, Fla., Basan L. Knox of Liberty, Trovonti Knox of Muskegon, Mich., and Jamaine Anderson of Gloster; five sisters, Clemintine McGehee, LaBama Knox Anderson, Hessie Mae Todd and husband, Steive, all of Liberty, Corinne Bass and husband, Patrick, of White Hall, Ark., and Barbara Lynn Moore of McComb; five brothers, Wilton Lee Knox and Dosan Alexander Knox, both of Muskegon, Oliver Ray Knox and wife, Ada, of Liberty, Anthony Knox and wife, Alice, of Bogue Chitto and Clem T. Knox and wife, Ladale, of Columbia; six grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Cox Moore of Liberty; two aunts; three uncles; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a number of other relatives and friends.
