Vidalia comes close, but not close enough

MARKSVILLE, La. — Vidalia came close to avenging last year’s 68-7 loss to Marksville, but the Tigers scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to end the Vikings’ upset bid in an LHSAA District 3-3A game Friday night.
Vidalia lost 21-12.
Vidalia trailed Marksville 7-6 at halftime and kept it close in the third quarter. The Vikings entered the fourth quarter down 14-12, but the Tigers’ late score put the game away.
Vidalia (1-6, 0-2) hosts Avoyelles at 7 p.m. next Friday.
