NATCHEZ — Services for Edgar Holtslander, 78, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 22, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Davis officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Holtslander was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Middleton, N.Y., the son of Jesse Albert Holtslander and Alta K. Holtslander. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He played baseball for the Vicksburg Bellies Class C team. Mr. Holtslander was an avid fisherman and bowler in his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Amy H. Freeman; one grandson, Holt Davis Landry; and two brothers, Richard and Francis Holtslander.
Survivors include his wife, Frances B. Holtslander; one daughter, Leah Ann H. Peavey and husband, Tucker, of Brookhaven; one son, Keith Holtslander and wife, Heather, of Tracy, Calif.; five grandchildren, Lauren P. Landry, Ashley Holtslander, Nicholas Peavey, Emily Freeman and Kyra Holtslander; two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Tarver Landry; and two brothers, Donald and Joel Holtslander.
Pallbearers will be Jon Landry, Tucker Peavey, Nicholas Peavey, Keith Holtslander, Ernest Barlow, Sonny Daniels, Grady Boykin and Dalvis Dees.
