NATCHEZ — Services for Dan Davis Sr., 82, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Kingston with the Rev. K.E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Davis was born May 7, 1927, in Natchez, the son of Joshua Davis and Leonard and Susie Skipper. He was retired from J.M. Jones Lumber Company.
Mr. Davis was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Joan Fisher; four sisters, Laura Porter, Nancy Skipper, Bertha Lewis and Susie Thomas; and three brothers, Leonard James Skipper, Burl Skipper and Henry Skipper.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Davis; four children, Larry Thomas and wife, Debra, Sandra Profice and husband, Larry, Dan Davis Jr. and wife, Debra, and Melvin Davis and wife, Shirlean; three sisters, Frankie Skipper, Hattie Dennis and husband, Longino, and Mattie Banks.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Banks, Peter Banks, Frederick Wallace, Michael McCoy, Eugene Skipper and Henry Skipper.
