NATCHEZ — Services for James H. Dixon, 71, of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Aid Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.
Mr. Dixon was born May 1, 1941, in Woodville, the son of L.C. Dixon and Viola Dawson. He attended Sadie V. Thompson High School and was employed by KCS Lumberyard.
Mr. Dixon was a singer in a local band and did carpentry work. He was Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Angelo Dixon.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Dixon; four children, Olivia “Libby” Dixon, Terrace Bindon and Margie Ann Holmes and husband, Eddie, all of Natchez, and NaTasha Wilson of Atlanta; three grandchildren; one sister, Susie Miller and husband, George, of Killeen, Texas; one brother, Wardell Smith of Greenville, N.C.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
