Willis Darden

CENTREVILLE — Services for Willis Chisholm Darden, 68, a lifelong resident of Centreville, who died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Wilkinson County Senior Care in Centreville, will be at 11 a.m. today at Centreville Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Johnsey officiating.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Darden was born Jan. 30, 1942, in Centreville, the son of Andrew Jackson “Jack” Darden and Doris McGraw Darden.

Mr. Darden served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Buck Darden.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Dickerson Darden; three sisters, Kay Hughes and husband, Curtis, and Ann Greer and husband, Johnny, all of Centreville, and Dottie Brady and husband, Durwood, of Liberty; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Darden of Centreville and Gerrie Burns and husband, Tom, of Montgomery, Ala.; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Curt Hughes, John Curtis Hughes, Andrew Hughes, Bucky Darden, Thomas Greer, Darden Brady, Steve Brady and Dan Dalton.
