RIDGELAND — Services for Robert King “Bob” Hester, 29, who died Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Madison, will be at 3 p.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Highland Colony Chapel.
Burial will follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Bob was born June 14, 1980, in Natchez, the son of William and Cheryln Hester. He graduated with honors from Natchez High School and was a class favorite. Bob attended Governors School in Columbus and was an Eagle Scout in Troop 168 in Natchez. He graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College with honors and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned his bachelor of science in nursing degree from Alcorn State University.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, who truly wanted the Bill of Rights preserved for the future. He was an avid health and fitness enthusiast. He did a lot of volunteer work with individuals with special needs.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William A. and Ellie K. Hester of Jackson and maternal grandparents, Wallace G. and Evelyn T. Carpenter of Sidon.
Survivors include his parents of Madison, formerly of Natchez; one brother, W. Stewart Hester of Madison; and his dog, Bella.
He was a beloved son, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
