Lydia Berryhill

NEW HEBRON — Memorial services for Lydia Mann Berryhill, 84, of New Hebron, formerly of Natchez, were Saturday, May 15, 2010, at New Hebron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Debose officiating.
Mrs. Berryhill donated her body to science.
Mrs. Berryhill was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Queensland, Australia. She came to the United States in March 1947, to marry Richard Berryhill of Natchez who she met when he was in Australia during World War II. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Berryhill moved to New Hebron in 1983 to be closer to her daughter and her family.
She was a member of New Hebron United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed needlework and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandson, Richard Reitzel.
Survivors include three daughters, Deniese Merit of Lake Placid, Fla., Cheryl Hayes and husband, Mike, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Sandra Shivers and husband, Don, of New Hebron; five grandchildren, Katrina Reitzel, Heather Thomas, Ross Merritt, Bill Shivers and Melissa Smith; one great-grandchild, Michael Smith; one sister, Bette McGill; and one brother, Les Mann of Australia.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Fund or the New Hebron United Methodist Church.
The family extends their thanks to friends and family for their support during this time.
