GLOSTER — Services for Silas Samuel Lanehart Jr., 73, lifelong resident of Crosby, who died Thursday, May 27, 2010, in Crosby, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bernard Waites officiating.

Burial will follow at Enlow Cemetery near Crosby under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lanehart was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Wilkinson County, the son of Silas S. Lanehart Sr. and Amy Bernice Felter Lanehart Nettles.

He was a retired driver and current meter reader with Southwest Electric Company. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Lanehart was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Inez McDowell; one grandson, Taylor Lanehart.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Nell Edwards Lanehart of Crosby; two sons, Curtis Lanehart and his wife, Ella and Sammy Lanehart, all of Woodville; one daughter, Gloria Watkins and her husbnand, Raymond of Moselle; nine grandchildren, Emily Lanehart, Josh Lanehart, Hannah Lanehart, Erin Lanehart, Olivia Lanehart, Zach Lanehart, Alexis Lanehart, Jared Watkins and Grace Ann Seal and her husband, Jeremiah; four sisters, Pearly Perry of Natchez, Belle Abrahamson of Wakefield, La., Linda Williams of Woodville and Carmel Ross of Vidalia.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Perry, Clint Williams, Lane McCarty, Sheldon Edwards, Michael Edwards and Brian Edwards.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Watkins, Jeremiah Seal, Davis McDowell, W.H. McCarty, Pete Lanehart, Bill Smith, Marty Longmire and Doug Tanksley.
