NATCHEZ — Services for Joe Andrew Johnson, 66, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug., 1, 1943, in Adams County, the son of Louis and Johnnie Pearl Johnson. He was a 1961 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. He was employed by Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company and Fidelity Tire. He was Catholic.
Mr. Johnson was a member of United Steel Workers of America USGA Local 303.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elbert Johnson.
Survivors include nine children, Shun Johnson, Karl Johnson, Kurt Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Carl Elmore, Kathy Johnson, Karen Johnson, Sarah Elmore and Karen Elmore; four brothers, Louis Johnson Jr., the Rev. Carl Johnson and wife, Bobbie, Larry Johnson and Henry Williams; four sisters, Johnetta Mouton, Everline Johnson, Rose Patterson and husband, Ralph, and Claudia White and husband, the Rev. LeRoy White; a special friend, Dorothy Knight; 10 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
