NATCHEZ — Services for James Malcolm Day, 62, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, with Pat, his loving and devoted wife by his side, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Natchez with Dr. Doug Broome officiating.

Burial will follow at Day Cemetery in Crosby under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Day was employed by Entergy as an I.C.E. technician in Vicksburg. He was a 1968 graduate of Gloster High School and received an associate degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez.

Malcolm loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his two boxers and his cat. Best of all, he loved a good story and spinning a good yarn.

Malcolm will be sadly missed by all his friends and relatives who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Malcolm Day Sr.; his grandparents, Grover and Myrtis Day, Anthony and Carmen Przybylski; and his father-in-law, Marvin McKinney.

Survivors include his wife of almost 43 years, Patricia McKinney Day; his mother, Barbara Huff Evans of Brandon; one brother, Stan Evans and wife, Sandy, of Terry; two sisters, Patty Evans Westbrook and husband, Chad, of Brandon and Janet Evans of Canton; mother-in-law, Margie McKinney of Natchez; brother-in-law, Bill McKinney and wife, Betty, of Natchez; two sisters-in-law, Sherry McKinney LaMond of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lynn McKinney Withrow and husband, Mark, of Perryville, Mo.; and a number of nieces, nephews, loving aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Bill McKinney, Mark Withrow, Keyn Murray, Mickey Finn, Wayne Thompson and Steve Edwards.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gwin-Pyron Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and Entergy employees of Baxter Wilson Plant in Vicksburg.

The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to doctors and staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for their support during these most difficult years. They would also like to thank Deaconess Hospice for their kindness and caring. You will always be in our hearts and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church of Natchez or to a charity of choice.
