NATCHEZ — An 80-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross the street Monday.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said the pedestrian, Mary Eidt, was struck by a Toyota Camry on Washington Street at its intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Street at 3:08 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle, Angela Hall, 35, was northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Street and making a turn onto Washington Street at the time of the accident.
“(The victim) was struck in the lower part of her body, and she basically rolled over the hood,” Ford said.
Eidt was transported to a local hospital with complaints that her left arm was hurt, Ford said.
The detective said the incident was being considered an accident, and no citations were issued.
