FERRIDAY — Services for Herbert Clyde Wilson, 80, of Vidalia, who died Monday, June 7, 2010, in Alexandria, La., will be at 2 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Worsham officiating.
Burial will follow at Monclova Cemetery in Waterproof, La., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Wilson was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Jena, La., the son of William L. and Alberta B. Wilson. He was a resident of Vidalia for 45 years. He was a retired drilling superintendent for Energy Drilling Company. Mr. Wilson was Pentecostal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kay Wilson; and four children, Rhonda Wilson, Camellia Wilson, Calvin Wilson and Herbert C. Wilson Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Christian Chain Wilson of Vidalia and Johnny Ray “Smokey” Wilson of Port Sulphur, La.; three daughters, Karen Cross of Monterey, Kristy Nugent of Vidalia and Diane Creel of Zachary, La.; one sister, Edith Trevillion of Waterproof; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Chain Wilson, Smokey Joe Wilson, Trey Hamilton, Murphy Creel, Paul Wilson, Dustin Lisenby, Mike McCarty and Billy Kimble.
Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Finley.
