FAYETTE — Services for Alexis D. Monroe, 25, of Jackson, who died Sunday, July 4, 2010, in Hinds County, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Grove Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Monroe was born Nov. 6, 1984, in Jefferson County, the son of Helen Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Danny Payton Sr. and Mary Ann Payton and two aunts, Mary Ann Gaines and Lee Ruth Houston.

Survivors include his loving mother and stepfather, Willie Johnson, both of Jackson; one daughter, Tareyonia Monroe of Gainesville, Ga.; one brother, Walter Payton of Jackson; three aunts, Lucille Lee, Geraldine Fells and Lula Sanxton; three uncles, Cornelius Payton, Albert Payton and Danny Payton Jr., all of Fayette; special cousin, Paulesha McBride of Fayette; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
