WATERPROOF — Services for Ocie Lee Simpson, 66, of Houston, Texas; formerly of Waterproof, La., who died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cypress Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Daniels officiating.

Burial will follow at Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Simpson was born Jan. 8, 1944, in Waterproof, the daughter of Lannie Simpson and Pearlie Randall Thomas.

She was a retired respiratory therapist.

Ms. Simpson was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Debra Thomas.

Survivors include one son, Jonathan Simpson of Houston; stepfather, D.C. Thomas Sr. of Waterproof; two grandchildren, Kristy Veal and Jennifer Sanchez of New Orleans; seven brothers, Benjamin Thomas of Jeanerette, La., Tyrone Thomas of New Orleans, Dewayne Thomas and wife, Alicia, of San Antonio, Carl Thomas of Waterproof, Donnell Thomas and wife, Tina of Kansas City, Ellis Thomas and wife, Rosa and Dennis Thomas Jr. and wife, Gwen, all of Fort Worth, Texas; five sisters, Shelly White and Emma Bell of Waterproof, Eliza Williams and husband, Oliver of Houston, Rebecca Moigua of San Jose, Calif. and Alberta Smith of Vallejo, Calif.; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
