WOODVILLE — A Greenville woman died Friday night in a single-car crash near Wilkinson County Christian Academy on U.S. 61 South.

Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene at 7:50 p.m.

Lorie A. Patrick, 44, 567 Cypress Lane, Greenville, was driving south on the highway in a 2005 Buick SUV when the vehicle left the road to the right and overturned, a MHP spokesman said.

Patrick was pronounced dead on scene by Wilkinson County coroner. She was wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in the vehicle, Trent M Collette, 24, of 9385 Highway 77 Fordoche, La., was transported by ambulance to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb with minor injuries. Collette was also wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
