Barbara Jean Starks
March 22, 1934 – Sept. 1, 1999
FAYETTE – Services for Barbara Jean Starks, 65, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Starks was born March 22, 1934 in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Beatrice and Henry Hall. She was their youngest child and a twin sister to Robert Hall.
She attended Springhill Elementary and Towsend High School in Pine Bluff, Ark. In 1952, she married Ollie L. Peel Sr. In 1954, the family moved to Chicago, where she lived for several years. She later married Isaac Starks of Fayette.
Survivors include her husband, Isaac Starks; one son and his wife, the Rev. Ollie L. and Sandra Peel Jr. of Chicago; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Henry and Bernice Hall Jr. of Oklahoma, Robert and Nancy Hall Sr. of Ohio and Anthony Hall of New Jersey; two sisters and their husbands, Bonnia and Al Ford of Minnesota and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thomas of Pennsylvania; and a number nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Sadie Mae Walker
July 11, 1932 – Sept. 3, 1999
FROGMORE, La. – Services for Sadie Mae Walker, 67, of Ferriday, who died on Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at her residence, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Hollins officiating.
Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Walker was born July 11, 1932, in Morganza, La., to Julius and Celeste Harris Kelly. She was a retired nurse’s aide and a member of St. James Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Henry Walker and Joseph Walker.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Walker; three sons and their wives, Gregory and Emma Walker and Carlton Walker, all of Ferriday, and Alonza and Carrie Ann Walker of Wildsville, La.; nine daughters and their husbands; Janice and Joe Ceasor, Katie and Mark White, Betty Ventress, Evelyn and Ray Hunter, Connie and Willie King and Ann Gilmore, all of Ferriday, Carla and Wesley Hillard and Tonya Walker, all of Baton Rouge, La., and Gloria and Everett Quinn of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Kelly of Alexandria, La., and Julius Kelly Jr. of Monroe, La.; Marie Banks of Ferriday; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Sylvester &uot;Cil&uot; Walton

LORMAN – Services for Sylvester &uot;Cil&uot; Walton, 50, of Fayette, who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at his residence, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Kemp Burley Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.
Mr. Walton was born June 18, 1949 in Jefferson County to A.J. and Hattie Walton. He confessed his faith in Christ and joined the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. In 1970, he graduated from Liddell High School in Fayette. He worked for eight years for the Chrysler Corp. in Detroit.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel B. Walton; his mother; one son and his wife, Antione and Felicia Walton of Atlanta; one daughter, Mary Walton of Fayette; one grandson, Cortriel Malik Walton of Atlanta; four brothers and their wives, Eddie and Elouise Walton of Omaha, Neb., Andrew James and Marie Walton of Detroit, Vernell and Emma Walton and Felvis Walton, all of Fayette; eight sisters and their husbands, Evelyn Fells, Mary Williams and Alice and Marshall Banks, all of Fayette; Katie and Tom Horn and Annell Perry, all of Springfield, Mass., Johnnis Ruth and Henry Jackson of Chicago, Elnora and Eugene Huff of Tampa, Fla., and Thelma and Carl Jones of Ralito, Calif.; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Willie Fells, Prentiss Fells, Charles Fells, Ricky McDonald, Marshall Banks and Anthony Walton. Honorary pallbearers will be Antonie Walton, Eddie James Walton, Vernell Walton, Andrew James Walton and Felivs Walton.
