ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) — Miss-Lou native Toni Bertolet Henthorn died Saturday during a hiking trip with her husband in the Rocky Mountains.

Henthorn, 50, fell approximately 40 or 50 feet from the steep, rocky north side of Deer Mountain, park rangers have confirmed.

Rangers reached the scene about two hours later, and Henthorn’s body was recovered Sunday.

Henthorn, a 1980 graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School, was the daughter of Bob and Yvonne Bertolet, now of Ridgeland, and brother to Barry and Todd Bertolet.

She was living with her husband Harold and 7-year-old daughter Haley in Highlands Ranch, Colo.

She was an ophthalmologist. A memorial service will be Thursday in Jackson.
