Cooler weather arrived in Natchez Saturday with the annual Cathedral School Fall Festival.

The event had something for everybody including pony rides and games for children. There were also plenty of baked goods and festive decorations for sale.

&uot;It’s the perfect day. It’s a good crowd and it all falls into place,&uot;&160;said Libby Voss, a Cathedral teacher. Cathedral has hosted the festival for years to raise money for the school.

&uot;It’s always seems to get bigger and better,&uot; Voss said.

Audrey Lynn Byrne sold a number of casserole dishes Saturday morning for a reasonable price of $8.

&uot;I’ve been with the casserole table over 20 years,&uot; she said. &uot;I love it. I just really do.&uot;

The casserole table is very popular and has made more than $1,000 in past years, Byrne said. &uot;We sell them as soon as we get them,&uot; said La Ne Henry, casserole table volunteer. &uot;We can’t even get them to the table.&uot;

The casseroles are all homemade and are a great way to plan dinner, she said.

&uot;The casseroles sell because because people don’t want to cook at home,&uot; Henry said.

The festival included several raffle prizes such as two Beanie Baby baskets and an 8-week-old chocolate lab.

&uot;This is the first time we’ve given a dog (away) at the festival,&uot; said Disa Taunton, the puppy’s owner.

Taunton said she decided to raffle off the puppy simply because she had a litter of the puppies at home this year.

&uot;Usually they are a popular item,&uot; Taunton said. &uot;The kids will buy raffle ticks, and it’s good for a festival since I had one.&uot;

The drawings will take place Sunday.

The festivities continued into the evening Saturday, with a rib and gumbo dinner for adults that night.
