It will be run versus the past when Adams County Christian School takes on Simpson Academy in Magee Friday at 7 p.m.

&uot;They are fast,&uot; said Adams County Christian School head football coach Bo Swilley. &uot;They have three kids who are quick. Their quarterback and two backs run the ball very well.&uot;

Swilley said Simpson’s defense does a good job of going to the football.

&uot;Whenever there is a tackle made, their are four or five guys around it,&uot; he said.

Swilley said the Rebels (3-5) will do what they do best – throw the ball.

&uot;But we’ll mix in the run,&uot; he said.

AC sophomore quarterback Ty Smith has completed 85 of 172 passes for 1,202 yards and six touchdowns through the last five games.

Sophomore Russ Marks has caught 26 passes for 580 yards and five touchdowns, while junior Lee Watts has 27 catches for 387 yards and a touchdown.

&uot;We’ve thrown the ball well, but we haven’t scored when we had the opportunity,&uot; Swilley said. &uot;It’s very demoralizing when you get down there and don’t score or you have a play that goes backward.&uot;

Swilley is hoping his defense can keep Simpson going the other way.

&uot;We have to be aggressive,&uot; he said. &uot;They don’t do anything fancy. They like to keep it basic and they do it well. Their backs run hard and get loose. We can’t allow them the opportunity to score quick.&uot;
