Can it be the playoffs already? Well, for Pine Hills Academy and Tensas Academy it can.

Unfortunately, both schools will be saying, &uot;Can you believe the season is already over?&uot;

Pine Hills, which finished the season at 8-2, only three points away from a perfect record, faces Tri-County, a perennial power in Academy Class A.

The Wildcats have to go there and none of the players have any playoff experience.

Tri-County better get it done this year, because the Wildcats will be back: Tri-County 21, Pine Hills 20.

Tensas Academy finished second in its district, but drew a tough Woodland Hills squad.

The Chiefs were the surprise team last year, but there are no surprises this year: Woodland Hills 24, Tensas 14.

Natchez High returns home after three straight road games.

The unfortunate part is that Brandon will be the opponent.

Still trying to keep its head up: Brandon 24, Natchez 7.

Cathedral High had it handed to them last week against Wesson.

The Green Wave may not make the playoffs, but they’ll finish strong in a tough district:&160;Cathedral 20, Hinds 14.

Adams County Christian School lost a heartbreaker last week to Madison-Ridgeland 14-7.

The Rebels had several chances to win, but only scored on only one of those opportunities.

Simpson defeated ACCS&160;24-15 last year and has a strong team again this season.

Too much has been going against the Rebels the last few weeks. It’s time the tide changed: ACCS 27, Simpson 20.

Vidalia High felt it would have a breather at Crowville early in the year.

That was before Crowville surprised and upset Block High.

This is a dangerous situation for Viking coach Dee Faircloth, whose team can’t afford to look ahead to Ferriday next week and can’t let the No. 5 ranking go to their heads.

On solid ground: Vidalia 30, Crowville 6.

Ferriday High lost a tough game to Farmerville last week, but the good news is that it was a non-district game.

The Trojans can’t afford to slip up against district foe McCall this Friday: Ferriday 27, McCall 6.

Franklin County has been on a roll, but stumbled a bit last week in a 21-14 win over Port Gibson.

There will be no stumbling this week: Franklin 20, Amite 12.

Jefferson County has taken its share of lumps this year, but the Tigers have played hard the entire season.

That attitude pays off this week: Jefferson County 26, Hazlehurst 12.

Centreville Academy finishes up its regular season against Brookhaven. The Tigers, defending AAA state champions, have already clinched their division.

You can bet Bill Hurst will won’t his Tigers hitting on all cylinders going into the playoffs. Rev it up:&160;Centreville 29, Brookhaven 12.

Wilkinson County Christian Academy is riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Trinity last week.

The Rams won’t another one to have some momentum going into next season, which can’t get here quick enough for Woodville fans.
