BROOKHAVEN — The Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels did their part. Now they just have to wait to see if they’ll get to keep playing.
After a 9-2 win at Brookhaven Academy Wednesday to close the regular season, ACCS is awaiting word to see whether or not the team will live to play another day, head coach Jimmy Allgood said.
“The playoffs are pending,” Allgood said. “We should find out very shortly.”
Merritt Murray and Jordan Parker both had a hat trick, or three goals, in the Lady Rebels rout Wednesday. Mollie Simpson, Anna Babb and Karrigan Eidt all had goals for ACCS.
Murray scored her first goal in the fifth minute of the game. Brookhaven Academy tied the game two minutes later, but from there it was all Lady Rebels. Parker got goals in the ninth and 16th minute, and Simpson scored her goal in the 31st minute. Parker got her third goal in the 35th minute, giving her a hat trick before halftime.
Murray then scored her second and third goals in the 62nd and 70th minute. Anna Babb capped things off for ACCS with a goal in the 74 minute.
The Lady Rebels tallied 33 shots on goal to Brookhaven Academy’s seven.
