NATCHEZ — The Biddit! frog is in front of his computer and ready to take your bids — beginning at 9 a.m. today.
Biddit! is an online holiday gift certificate auction offering goods and services discounted as much as 50 percent.
Bidding begins at 9 a.m. today and ends at 8 p.m. next Sunday, Nov. 22.
Nearly 100 gift certificates for goods and services from local merchants will be available. With a combined value of well over $50,000, the list of items offers something for just about everyone.
Some of the larger ticket items include a Bad Boy Buggy Classic LSV, a 52-inch LCD TV, a Mio 50 motor scooter and a complete office furniture set.
But the auction items include more reasonably priced items, too, including gift certificates for hair cutting services, flower arrangements and even pizza.
Interested bidders can view items, register and begin bidding by visiting natchezdemocrat.com and clicking on the link at the top of the page.
Bids for gift certificates begin as low as $1 and reserve prices begin at 50 percent of the retail value.
The reserve price is simply the bid price at which the item will be sold. Items with bids that come in below the reserve price may not sell.
Local auctioneer Barry Maxwell will review all winning bids at the close of the auction.
Details of the auction rules and answers to frequently asked questions are available on the auction site under the “help” menu.
