Franklin County can’t be touched in 40-7 win

MONTICELLO — Chris Robinson had 12 carries for 102 yards and four touchdowns as the Franklin County Bulldogs rolled to a 40-7 win over the Lawrence County Cougars Friday night.
Robinson scored both of Franklin County’s touchdowns in the first half on runs of 31 and 2 yards. Matt Brasher made both extra points to give the Bulldogs a 14-0 halftime lead. They put the game out of reach with a 23-point third quarter, highlighted by touchdown runs of 22 and 11 yards by Robinson. Jadarius Davis, who was 5-of-13 passing with one interception for 60 yards, scored on a 10-yard run and Brasher added a 38-yard field goal. Brasher was also good from 32 yards out in the fourth quarter. Gabraun Smith scored on a 97-yard kickoff return for Lawrence County.
Franklin County’s defense held Lawrence County to just six first downs and 65 yards of total offense – all on the ground. The Bulldogs also recovered five Cougars fumbles.
Franklin County (4-2) begins Region 7-3A play next Friday at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts undefeated Wilkinson County.
