BROOKHAVEN — After a back-and-fourth first quarter which ended with Centreville Academy leading Brookhaven Academy 21-14, it appeared that the Tigers were going to run away with this non-district rivalry game after taking a 33-14 lead in the third quarter.
That was until the Cougars scored the next 21 points to take a 35-33 lead with less than four minutes left in the ball game. But the Tigers scored a touchdown and two-point conversion with just under two minutes to go and held on for the 41-35 win Friday night.
Centreville Academy, the No. 1 team in MAIS Class AA, improved to 6-0 overall. The Tigers play host to Adams County Christian School for homecoming next Friday with kickoff at 7 p.m.
