Hayden Wadsworth and Lee Watts of Adams County Christian School were named to the Mississippi Private School Association first team.

Also named to the first team was Centreville senior running back Matthew Tolbert, Centreville senior defensive lineman David Hughes and Centreville senior linebacker Rob Robertson.

The squad was chosen by the MPSA Football Committee.

Watts, a junior wide receiver, caught 35 passes for 553 yards and a touchdown.

&uot;I was very surprised,&uot;&160;Watts said of his selection. &uot;I figured Hayden would make it, but not me.&uot;

Watts said he enjoyed AC’s new offense this past year, win which the Rebels passed for almost 2,500 yards.

&uot;It was super,&uot; he said. &uot;I really liked it.&uot;

The 6-foot, 165-pound Watts said he looks for bigger things from the AC offense next year.

The Rebels finished 3-7 this past season.

&uot;I think we will have a better team because we’re used to the offense,&uot; he said.

Watts said he enjoys catching the short pass and turning it into a long gain.

&uot;I like making things happen,&uot; he said.

Wadsworth, a senior, caught 31 passes for 394 yards from his tight end position and also had 80 tackles and 12 sacks.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Wadsworth caught two passes as a wide receiver in the MPSA All-Star Game earlier this month.

Tolbert, a 6-foot, 170-pound senior, carried the ball 326 times for 2,561 yards, averaging 7.9 yards a rush.

Tolbert was named most valuable player in the MPSA all-star contest.

Hughes, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound senior, collected 45 tackles for the two-time MPSA&160;Class 3A state champions.

Robertson, a 6-foot, 220-pound senior, committed to Ole Miss before the season.

He had 85 tackles, despite missing four games.

Named to the second team were Centreville senior tight end Rich&160;Newman and Wilkinson County Christian Academy senior defensive end Clint Flowers.
