NATCHEZ — The 16-year-old allegedly responsible for the death of a 62-year-old man has been indicted by a grand jury for manslaughter.
Jamon V. Williams, 204 Dumas Drive, was indicted Tuesday in connection to the death of John “Body Man” Henderson. Williams, who was originally charged with murder, will be arraigned Dec. 17.
Williams was arrested Sept. 26 after police responded to call in the 500 block of Madison Street, where they found Henderson lying on the ground with blunt force trauma to the back of his head.
Authorities said Williams and three other males, whose ages range from 12 to 20, surrounded Henderson and began to harass him without motive. According to witness accounts, Williams was the instigator and physically struck Henderson.
Henderson was transported to Natchez Regional Medical Center, then to a Jackson hospital, where he died Sept. 26. Williams is being held at the Adams County Jail on $100,000 bond.
