MEADVILLE — Franklin County’s Region 7-3A opener at home against Hazlehurst has been postponed. Lady Bulldogs head coach Dana Smith said part of their field has standing water due to the recent rain.

Smith said it will probably be rescheduled next Monday at 6 p.m. Franklin County was originally scheduled to play at Bogue Chitto in a make-up game from Aug. 28 due to Hurricane Isaac.

However, the Lady Bobcats had to cancel their game with the Lady Bulldogs because they had to play a make-up game against Stringer, leaving Franklin County with an open date. The Lady Bulldogs will now begin region play on Thursday at Crystal Springs at 4:30 p.m.
