LAKE CHARLES, La. — Services for Renza Taussig Junk, who died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in DeSoto, Mo., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Jack Myers and the Rev. Jim Lukenhoff officiating.

Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Junk was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of Edward Holmes Taussig and Renza Brown. She was a graduate of Natchez High School where she was a band majorette and Louisiana State University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She was very active in the church, serving on the Altar Guild and on the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School Board. She was a substitute office receptionist and served her community as president of the Junior League, United Way of Southwest Louisiana, Regent of the Louisiana Bayou Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Board Committee, American Cancer Society, Imperial Calcasieu Museum, and was active in several other community organizations. She was also Queen for Krewe of Mystique.

Mrs. Junk was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Sharp Junk; her parents; her stepmother, Florence Streater Taussing; and one grandson, Derek Edward Junk.

Survivors include one son, Edward Junk and wife, Linda; one daughter, Renza Junk Linnemeyer and husband, Larry; two granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Linnemeyer and Clarissa Junk Grossman and husband, Andrew; one brother, James Edward Taussig and wife, Karen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kimberly Ann Linnemeyer, George L. Paret, John St. Romain, Edward Taussig, Richard I. Walker and Richard Netterville. Crucifer will be Edward Taussig IV. Reader will be Will Taussig.
