Enjoy an exciting evening of piano

On Thursday the Concordia Parish Library will be hosting Louisiana International Piano Competition finalist Corbin Beisner at the Concordia Bank lobby in Vidalia at 7 p.m.
Corbin Beisner was born in 1988 in Las Vegas, where he began learning the piano by studying jazz and composition, but later found his passion in classical music.
Mr. Beisner has participated in the International Piano Academy in Freiburg, Germany, the Barcelona Forum Internacional de Musica in Spain, the Lake Como Summer Piano Academy in Italy and the International Piano Festival in Obidos, Portugal, among others.
He has worked with several world-renowned pianists, including Paul Badura-Skoda, Boris Berman and the late Vitaly Margulis. Mr. Beisner has won numerous awards in the United States and in Europe.
Mr. Beisner was a semi-finalist in the 2011 Louisiana Piano Competition. Mr. Beisner currently resides in Hartford, Conn., where he studies with Luiz de Moura Castro and received his bachelors of music, summa cum laude, from the Hartt School in Hartford, Conn.
The Louisiana International Piano Competition was founded in 2004 by the visionary pianist, Dr. Nikita Fitenko in Central Louisiana. Beisner’s performances have galvanized the crowds with familiar and classical selections.
