FERRIDAY — Services for Levi Scott “L.S.” Cross Jr., 85, of Clayton, who died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Russell Crum officiating.
Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Cross was born May 14, 1927, the son of Levi Scott Cross Sr. and Etta Shows Cross. He worked at Delta Jersey Farms/Bordens for 30 years delivering milk and also managed Vidalia Gulf Station. He loved gardening. His favorite thing was growing tomatoes.
Mr. Cross was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Cross; his parents; one brother, Omer Cross; and two sisters, Phala Kelly and Vela Daniels.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Fleener and husband, Dan, of Clayton and Kitty Bradford and husband, Steve, of Jena, La.; three sons, Scott Cross and wife, Betsy, of Baker, La., John Cross and wife, Janie, of Dallas and Kail Cross and wife, Heather, of Vidalia; one sister, Corrine Tumminello of Ferriday; 11 grandchildren, Kelly Humphries, Kay Clem, Cortney Ainsworth, Daniel Cross, Susannah Cross, John Cross, David Cross, Sarah Ables, Tori Bradford, Jennifer Evans and Zayne Bradford; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Clem, Ernest Humphries, David Cross, Daniel Cross, John Cross, Eddie Clem and David Alexander.
