Reports in north Natchez of stolen bikes, stolen recreational vehicles and a school burglary led to the arrest of three juveniles Wednesday. Natchez Police arrested Joseph Patrick Thomas, 15, 10 Old Reed St., on charge of one count grand larceny and burglary. He is being prosecuted as an adult and is held without bond at the Adams County Jail. Police also arrested two 14-year-old boys on the charges, but their names could not be released because they are being prosecuted as juveniles.

&uot;We would like to get them off the streets so the citizens will have a break from the criminals,&uot;&160;said Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff.

If the investigation supports it, the juveniles may face more charges for stealing six bikes taken over the past 10 days, Huff said.

Police believe the three juveniles broke into Thompson School, on North Union Street, on Feb. 17 and stole $2,500 worth of computer, tape recording and audio visual equipment.

They are also charged with the Feb. 22 theft of a moped from North Commerce Street Extension and the Feb. 19 theft of a three-wheeler from Prentiss Street. &uot;We got some information that said the three-wheeler had been seen running up and down (Louisiana) Street,&uot; he said.

Police found one computer in a gully and found stolen bikes hidden around the area. Many of the other items were at a residence connected to the juveniles, Huff said. Thomas is being tried as an adult because of his past criminal history. Over the past two years, he has been charged with aggravated assault, stealing a golf cart from Duncan Park and stealing a bike.
