— Sylvester and Clarence Davis (160 Davis Road, Shaw, Miss. 38773, 662-754-5389 or 662-754-6110) are searching for the descendants of HAMP DAVIS of Possum Hollow, a community near Port Gibson, Miss. Mr. Davis was born in Claiborne County, Miss. in 1868 and moved to Shaw, Miss. in Sunflower County in 1913. If any reader has information about Mr. Davis and his family it would be greatly appreciated.

— T.J. Aaron (322 Leisure Village Drive, New Braunfels, Texas 78130-8715, 1-830-625-5822) Is seeking information on GOODE family members listed in Marshall County, Miss. in 1850. The last child was born October of 1854. The children were in Independence County, Ark., by the 1860 census as were their grandmother and an uncle. Their parents were not with them and it is assumed they died between 1855 and 1860. Known family members include: WESLEY GOODE (born 1828 in Tipton County, Tenn., (died 1850-60 possibly in a drowning); JOHN HAWKINS GOODE (born 1822 in Jefferson County, Ala.; died 1855-60); and AMANDA CATHERINE GOODE (born circa1821 in South Carolina or Alabama; died between 1855-1860). Would anyone know if there was a fever outbreak about this time in Marshall County? Would there be any newspaper accounts of drownings, epidemics of some sort, obituaries, etc.? Any information, names or leads would be of great value!

— Katherine Roberts (3334 Beaumont Drive, Pearl Miss., 39208, 601-939-5902) wishes to correspond with anyone having knowledge of JOHN WILL ANDERSON and CALLIE POWELL (born August 1878 in Attala County, Miss.).

They were married 31 January 1904 in Leake County, Miss. Callie was the daughter of JOSEPH (JOE) HENRY POWELL and VIRGINIA ANNA (GENNIE) BOWMAN. Their children were: Lillie Anderson (wed to Lloyd Barrett), Effie Anderson, Bud Anderson, and Ernest Anderson.

Mrs. Roberts is also looking for information on a Mr. ARNOLD POWELL from Magnolia in Pike County, Miss. He had a son, James Powell, who worked for the V.A. of Foreign Wars in Jackson, Miss. Arnold was a brother to Joseph (Joe) Henry Powell of Attala and Leake County, Miss. Can any reader help with information on this family?

— Joana Breeland (22 Industrial Park Road, Tylertown, Miss., 39667) is searching for information on ROBERT DRAUGHON PATRICK whose diary and letters were published as RELUCTANT REBEL.

His great niece, Ester Nash (Mrs. James W. Etheridge) had these papers. Mrs. Breeland’s ancestor, Joshua, had brothers Rufus, Sheperd and Robert Draughon who came to central Louisiana from Scotland. Does anyone have any information on Robert and his family?
