Plans are being finalized for the Natchez High Alumni Baseball Game to be held Saturday at Liberty Park.
Two games will be held involving former baseball players from North Natchez, South Natchez and Natchez High.
The first nine-inning game involving players 30-and over will be held at 11 a.m.
That will be followed by a nine-inning contest involving those under 30.
&uot;We figured that would make it more competitive,&uot; said Natchez High baseball coach Michael Lindsey, who played at South Natchez and will be competing in the 30-over game.
Lindsey said all players need to be at the field at 10:30 a.m. so the squads can be divided up.
&uot;Players can wear shorts and a shirt and if they don’t have a glove, we can furnish one,&uot;&160;he said.
Lindsey said anyone who has not signed up at Sports Center downtown can call him and pay Saturday.
&uot;We just need to know the number of players as soon as possible,&uot; he said.
Lindsey said the oldest players competing will be from the South Natchez class of 1974.
Former South Natchez/Natchez High baseball coach Buddy Wade will also be involved in the contests.
Admission is $2 and the concession stand will be open.
Money raised will go to the Natchez High Booster Club to help buy equipment for the Bulldog baseball team.
