Kay Ketchings of the Natchez Junior Auxiliary was trying to figure out a way to raise money, promote health and do something for the young people.
That led to the Natchez Junior Auxiliary 5K run, 5K walk and one-mile run to be held April 1.
The one-mile fun run is for ages 12-under.
&uot;We really wanted to do something focusing on the kids,&uot; Ketchings said.
The event will start and end at Memorial Park.
&uot;We wanted to find a way to get the community involved and felt that would be a good place for people to watch who don’t want to participate,&uot;&160;Ketchings said.
Ketchings added the registration is slow right now, but she expects it to pick up.
Registration forms can be picked up at Main Stream Fitness or McDonald’s Restaurant.
Registration is $12 for the run and walk and $5 for those 12-and-under for the one-mile run. All proceeds go to the Natchez Junior Auxiliary.
