A 19-year-old walking alone on East Woodlawn Street early Monday was allegedly robbed at gunpoint and police think they know who did it.
At around 12:05 a.m., as the victim walked in front of Green’s Package Store, police think he was robbed at gun-point by a man driving a dark-colored Cadillac, said Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff.
By using the vehicle tag number, a suspect Jerry D. Williams, 31, 707 Walnut St., Vidalia, was arrested in Vidalia Monday by the Vidalia Police Department.
The 19-year-old victim told police the Cadillac pulled off the side of the road and exited the vehicle as he walked past.
Soon afterwards, the victim reported feeling something cold and metallic on the back of his neck before he turned around to face the suspect, police reports said.
The Vidalia Police have charged Williams with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Williams was being held at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Monday on a $20,000 bond. He is also being held for the Natchez Police.
