Good couple personifies their name

I was a bit surprised that there was no mention in your “Good news of the week” segment about Dianne and Joe Good and the summer trips they make available to the children in their neighborhood.

If, in the future, there happens to be a “do the right thing” column in the paper, they should be at the top of the list.

The Goods’ actions preceded President Obama’s call to service to the citizens of our nation to make our neighborhoods and country a better place.

This couple saw a need and went to work to fill it starting with children. Altruism can come in small and large gestures.  When the Goods asked themselves what they could possibly do to show children a different side of life, the answer to them was simple.

Their altruism came with big payoff — children learning to set goals to get a chance at a life altering experience. Natchez has heroes from all walks of life.

The Goods, in my opinion, are included with the best of them.
