The 12th annual Adams County Sheriff’s rodeo is back in town and will take place at the Fairgrounds Arena in Liberty Park this Friday and Saturday.

&uot;If everything goes the way we plan it, then it will be an exciting weekend,&uot;&160;Adams County Sheriff Tommy Ferrell.

The Tri-State Rodeo Association is sanctioning this year’s ride.

Ferrell said he expects a large turnout for this weekend’s multitude of festivities.

&uot;If the weather’s good, and nothing else deters people from coming, we are expecting a full house for both nights,&uot;&160;Ferrell said.

&uot;In the past few years, several factors have come into play with the way attendance goes.

&uot;But, we’ve done our homework, and this year the slate looks clean for the weekend, therefore we should have a good crowd for both nights,&uot;&160;Ferrell said.

Due to the growing popularity of rodeos produced by sheriffs, the rodeo participants, according to Ferrell, are anxious to get to Natchez and perform.

&uot;The cowboys and cowgirls travel mostly on holidays, and that’s why we picked Memorial Day weekend for the event,&uot;&160;Ferrell said.

&uot;It’s usually been a conducive time for both the people of Natchez and the cowboys and cowgirls, so, again, we’re looking for a big turnout.&uot;

Ferrell also mentioned the eagerness that this particular rodeo circuit has to perform in Natchez.

&uot;This particular group always seems to like to come to Natchez,&uot; he said.

&uot;We’ve got a good arena and a good setup, so it’s always a pleasure for them to come to Natchez.&uot;&160;

Also included in this weekend’s festivities is the giving away of a registered quarterhorse pony.

Tickets can be purchased from any Deputy, and will be available right up to the drawing.

Festivities begin at 8 p.m. each night.

&uot;We just want the people of Natchez to have the opportunity to come out for some good, clean, family fun.&uot;
