The Tri-State Rodeo Association made its way all the way from Texas with the Flying J Rodeo Company to Natchez Friday night for the 12th Annual Adams County Sheriff’s Rodeo.
And the trip seemed to be well worth it juding by the cheers from the bleachers surrounding the pen.
To say the least, the rodeo lived up to its billing as being a place for family fun.
&uot;It’s always a good place for the parents to come out and bring the kids to just have some fun,&uot; said Adams County Sheriff Tommy Ferrell.
From bull riders to rodeo clowns, the rodeo provided entertainment for the young and old rodeo fan.
Chris Newman and wide-eyed daughter, Madeline Rose, were just two taking in the different rodeo events on display.
&uot;She’s been waiting all day to get out here,&uot;&160;Newman said.
&uot;She’s been saying all day long ‘Daddy, when are we going to see the horses?’ so, she’s excited to be here.&uot;
The night began with the bronco riding, then went on to such events as calf roping, breakaway roping, and then the bull riding competition.
Between events head rodeo clown, &uot;Shotgun&uot;&160;Bob, entertained all with jokes, annecdotes and a shooting display.
He was also the leader of an event that saw all children in attendance chase down a calf that had a flag on its tail.
The final night of rodeo action at the Liberty Park Arena will be today, and the events will begin at 8 p.m.
