COUSHATTA, La. — Lester Wells accounted for 213 total yards from scrimmage and scored three touchdowns Friday night as the Adams County Christian School Rebels defeated the Riverdale Academy Rebels 45-0 Friday night.
Wells had nine carries for 154 yards and one rushing touchdown to go with three catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
“We started off strong,” ACCS head coach David King said. “We’re slowly starting to find our identity (on offense).”
All-purpose back Trey Fleming also had a solid game for the Rebels. He had five carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns as a running back. At quarterback, Wells completed two of three passes for 29 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, ACCS made things difficult for Riverdale’s offense to have any kind of a rhythm. The Rebels were led by Garrett Keating and Tristan Beach, who had a combined 21 tackles and three sacks while Beach had a fumble recovery. Jordan Wells scored on a 26-yard fumble recovery in the third quarter.
“The defense really stepped up. We keep getting better every day,” King said. “It’s just slowly coming together as to what kind of team we’re trying to be.”
ACCS (2-1) plays at Central Private School next Friday at 7 p.m.
