Breon Dunnigan was a leader on the mound and at the plate, which helped lead East Buick to a 12-11 win over Wright’s Logging Tuesday in T.M. Jennings 11-12 action.

Dunnigan gave up four earned runs on five hits, struck out five and walked five in four innings for the win and went 1-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in.

&uot;I’m just proud of my guys,&uot; said East Buick head coach Marquis Washington.

&uot;They showed a lot of determination and hung in there. They worked hard and deserved the win.&uot;

East Buick (2-2) scored three runs in the top of the first inning.

Dennis Williams walked and later scored on a Wright’s Logging error. Jeremy Buckles singled and scored on a wild pitch.

Brandon Chatman walked and scored on another error.

Wright’s Logging (1-3) took the lead in the bottom of the first with four runs of its own.

D. J. Winding and Marcus Jones each scored on wild pitches. Darius Kingsbury scored on a error. Jarold Blackwell scored on a fielder’s choice by Marcus Hargrave.

East Buick got the lead back with five runs in the top of the second.

Mack King singled and later scored on a Dunnigan single.

Jermaine Scott scored when Buckles walked with the bases loaded.

Dunnigan and Buckles each scored on a wild pitch and Williams scored on an error for an 8-3 lead

Wright’s Logging tied the score at eight in the bottom of the second.

Three runs scored on errors and the other two came on wild pitches.

East Buick scored two runs in the top of the third.

Walter Turner walked and later scored on a fielder’s choice by Dunnigan. Lee Clay walked and scored on a wild pitch for a 10-8 lead.

Dunnigan retired the side in the bottom of the third to preserve the two-run lead.

&uot;They played good defense,&uot; said assistant coach Shon Jackson.

&uot;They came in there and played 100 percent. The key word is focus.&uot;

East Buick added two runs in the top of the fourth.

Cameron Logan doubled and scored on a Chatman single. Pinch runner J. D. Coach came in and later scored on a wild pitch.

Winding led off the bottom of the fourth by reaching third on an error and scoring on a wild pitch.

Kingsbury walked and later scored on a single by Jones, who was tagged out at second.

Blackwell walked and later scored on a wild pitch.

With one on and two out Dunnigan got Tony Byrd to pop out to the shortstop for the final out.

Blackwell took the loss for Wright’s Logging, giving up four runs on three hits, striking out four and walking four in three innings.

Jones gave up eight runs on three hits and walked six in one-plus inning.
