11 p.m. update

NATCHEZ — Approximately 3,141 Entergy customers are currently without power in Adams County as Hurricane Isaac continues to drench southern Mississippi and southeastern Louisiana.

Heavy rains and gusty winds are expected to advance into the region Wednesday night as Isaac advances slowly northwest through southeastern Louisiana.

Areas of central and southern Mississippi continue to see rain bands and east winds from Isaac.

Adams County remained under tropical storm warning, tornado watch and flash flood watch as of 11 p.m. and until further notice, according to the National Weather Service.

Concordia Parish remained under tropical storm warning and flash flood watch as of 11 p.m. and until further notice.

The center of Isaac was located approximately 15 miles south of Baton Rouge at 10 p.m. and continued moving northwest at 6 mph. That expected motion is expected to continue through Wednesday night, and the center of Isaac will move farther inland over Louisiana Thursday.

The slow progression of Isaac will result in a significant threat of flooding for the Miss-Lou through Wednesday night and into Thursday, with the potential for tornadoes continuing in the rain bands that pivot across the area.

Maximum winds are forecasted to be between 35 to 45 mph range with gusts to 50 mph, causing trees or tree limbs to be likely to fall and cause scattered power outages.
