ASU staff, students attend national science conference

LORMAN — Alcorn State University’s Department of Health Physics faculty members and students represented the university at the 56th annual Health Physics Society conference from June 27 through July 1, in Salt Lake City.
More than 1,500 professionals, academics, industry representatives and students from all over the nation and abroad participated in this event.
ASU faculty member Sam Aceil and Jermiah Billa presented a peer reviewed paper, “The presence and the amount of Radionuclides in Mississippi Farm-Raised Catfish.”
The student team consisted of five participants from health physics program of the applied sciences in the Department of Advanced Technologies, Corey Cooper, Alex Gidi, Jadtrl Heard, George Osei and Tewari Winfield.
