All-stars in action this week

While the Natchez Wallace 11-12 All-Stars enjoyed a bye in the District 6 Tournament Monday, three other Natchez teams continued practicing for upcoming state tournament play.
The Natchez Wallace League meets Pine Hills today in Gloster at the Pine Hills Dixie Youth Baseball Field at 7 p.m.
Pine Hills defeated Summit 7-4 Monday.
If Natchez wins today, the Wallace League team advances to the state tournament.
If Pine Hills wins today’s contest, a final championship game will be played Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Natchez Wallace defeated Pine Hills 9-0 last Friday in a first round game.
The Dixie Youth AAA 9-10 State Tournament is being played in Natchez.
Opening ceremonies will be held Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Carroll-Jones Field in Duncan Park.
State tournament play begins Saturday at Duncan Park with four games.
At 6 p.m. on the Carroll-Jones Field, Magee meets Cleveland National.
At 8 p.m., Carthage faces Philadelphia.
At 6 p.m. on the Ballew-Bowlin Field, Columbus National meets Franklin County.
At 8 p.m on the Ballew-Bowlin Field, host Natchez Confederate takes on Hattiesburg American.
East Central, a team from the Gulf Coast, received a first round bye in the tournament.
Play continues Sunday with four games. Tentatively those games are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., but Natchez Dixie Youth 9-10 commissioner Porky Smith said discussions will be held Saturday morning about moving those games to 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Three games will be played Monday.
The Natchez Dixie Boys 13-year-old All-Stars and 14-year-old All-Stars begin state tournament play this weekend after both squads captured their district tournaments.
The Natchez Dixie Boys 13-year-olds received a first round bye and will play Sunday at 2 p.m. in Laurel against a first-round winner from Saturday.
The Natchez 14-year-olds meet East Central from the Gulf Coast Saturday at 3:45 p.m. in Summit in a first-round game.
