T.M. Jennings 9-10 All-Star coach Charels Bass is anxious to begin play in today’s state tournament in D’Iberville. And he’s not the only one.
&uot;They’re ready,&uot; Bass said of his team. &uot;They’re ready to get back out on the field, and start playing other teams, and playing towards a goal,&uot; he said.
Bass, whose team defeated Hattiesburg in the district Tournament, earned the right to represent the North district in doing so.
&uot;We had a tough three games against Hattiesburg, but we made all the right plays, and now we’re heading to the state tournament,&uot; he said.
Bass said &uot;it has been a long road since we started playing this year, but this experience will make it all worth it.
&uot;We will probably be a little rusty, because of the fact that we haven’t played that much, but we’ll get sharper as the tournament goes on, and we look to win it,&uot; he said.
Bass said he thinks his team’s pitching performances will be what takes them to the championship.
&uot;I’ve got four pitchers that I use in games, and we’re confident they can do the job.&uot;
