DOES ANYONE KNOW…
–Mrs. Jerry L. Haddock (4192 Sardis Road, Hazelhurst, Miss., 39083) is searching for any information on the descendants of Arkansas-born, IDA BERNICE HADDOCK and her husband, J. C. LAWSON. They were known to have had at least one son, Melvin T. Lawson, who may have married and had children.
Her parents were Clayborn Admer Haddock and Frances Delilah (Fanie) HOWARD of Ashley County, Arkansas. In the early 1940’s her father worked in Port Neches and later moved to California. It is believed that Ida married in Texas and died of cancer near Baytown on 12 December 1961. Mrs. Haddock would like to update the records of Ida’s family following her marriage and share ancestor research. Can any reader help?
— Martha Lee Howell (1629 Swayze Street, Yazoo City, Miss., 39194) is seeking help with research on her great grandfather, GILBERT HOWELL. Gilbert was born 31 September 1816 around Linden, Tennessee and died 15 July 1894 near Booneville in Prentiss County, Mississippi. Proof is needed that Gilbert was the son of Abraham Howell who was born in 1792 in Laurens County, South Carolina, and is buried in Monroe County, Mississippi. It is believed that Abraham was the son of John Howell who was born prior to 1755 in Laurens County, South Carolina. Can anyone help prove these connections?

The family then moved to Kemper County, Mississippi. It is believed that Andrew and Sarah Hardy and two of their sons, B. B. Hardy and John Curtis Hardy, were members of a Baptist church in Noxubee County and that Andrew might possibly be buried there. Does any reader have any information that relates to this family?

Harriet was born 29 September 1830, in Madison County, Tennessee and married William James Woodell in 1853. They settled in Carroll County, Mississippi. It is believed that she died in 1900, but there is very little information on her.
Her parents may possibly be Samuel and Rachel CAROTHERS/CARROTHERS, but proof of this is needed. Can anyone help with this line?
