Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Burns Sr. of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Christine Burns to Clay Boothe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernarde Boothe Jr. of Madison.

The bride-to-be is a graduate Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She is employed by Med Travelers as an occupational therapist.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Carter and the late D.H. Carter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick P. Burns Sr., all of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Madison Central High School in Madison and is also a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He is also employed by Med Travelers as a physical therapist.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Joel Ann Grice and the late Mr. Robert Grice of Jackson, Mr. Vernarde R. Boothe Sr. and the late Ms. Faye Boothe of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Blackstock of Columbus and the late Mrs. Hazel Blackstock.

The wedding will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Brandon Hall Plantation in Natchez.
