Those who missed the Greg Iles book signing at Trinity Episcopal School last week got a second chance Saturday. Iles signed more than 120 copies of his newest novel, &uot;24 Hours,&uot; at Cover-to-Cover Books and More before embarking on a regional signing tour today.

The tour, which Iles calls the &uot;Grisham tour,&uot; will visit Tupelo, Oxford, Jackson, Bay St. Louis and New Orleans.

Along the way, he will also appear in television spots.

&uot;Jackson is going to be huge,&uot; Iles said, referring to the large number of fans he has there.

Iles will wrap up the tour the first week in September with a speech to the Midsouth Regional Independent Booksellers convention.

But it doesn’t end there. In September, People magazine will review &uot;24 Hours,&uot; and Iles said he expects a positive response.

‘I’ve got a good feeling about this one,&uot; he said. After the success of &uot;The Quiet Game,&uot; which sits at No. 20 on the New York Times Best Seller List, Iles said he thinks his latest book will capture a new audience.

While tracking the success of &uot;24 Hours,&uot; Iles will be busy writing his sixth novel, tentatively titled &uot;The Sleeping Woman.&uot;

&uot;I actually wrote the first chapter this morning,&uot; he said.

After brainstorming and outlining characters and plots for weeks, Iles said the creative gates finally opened while having dinner with friends at home Friday night.

Iles said he hurried to the computer and began typing while his guests were still there.

&uot;It was embarrassing, but that’s what you have to do,&uot; he said.

Amid book signings, regional tours and TV appearances, Iles said he will focus any time in between on his writing. &uot;That’s really what I’m thinking about,&uot; Iles said.
