NATCHEZ — Trinity Episcopal’s struggles at the plate continued Saturday afternoon as the Lady Saints lost to the Central Private School Lady Rebels 11-1 in six innings.

Trinity Episcopal didn’t get on the scoreboard against Central Private junior pitcher Alex Stuckey until the bottom of the fifth inning. Stuckey held the Lady Saints to just four hits and the defense behind her committed just two errors.

The Lady Rebels scored one run in the top of the first inning and then gave Stuckey plenty of run support with three runs in the top of the third and two more in the top of the fourth to make it a 6-1 game. They finished off the Lady Saints with five runs in the top of the sixth. Bayleigh Anders went 4-for-4 and Emily Danehower was 2-for-4 to lead Central Private.

Trinity Episcopal (2-8) next plays at Tensas Academy on Monday at 5 p.m.

ACCS gets 2-2 split at River Oaks

MONROE, La. — Adams County Christian School was forced to play four games in a row with no break in between as the Lady Rebels earned a split in the River Oaks back-to-school softball bash Saturday evening.

ACCS topped Riverdale 4-1 in Game 1 before losing to Union Christian 6-4 in Game 2. The Lady Rebels bounced back in Game 3 with an 8-5 win versus Prairie View. A 1-0 loss to Glenbrook rounded out the Lady Rebels’ day.

Taylor Perkins started all four games for ACCS and totaled 18 innings. She went the distance in each game.

Braxtyn Elveston went 3-for-3 in Game 1, while Jessica Reynolds went 2-for-3 in Game 2. Ashleigh Williams was 2-for-2 in the second game.

In Game 3, Reynolds and Jordan Petty both doubled. Reynolds again went 2-for-3 while Petty finished 2-for-2. A worn-out Lady Rebels managed just one hit in Game 4.

ACCS (14-10, 2-1) will play at Amite School Center Monday.
